I hate quotes like that. Like when someone says "You must give 100%. Not 99, not 99 and a half, 100%." What does that really mean? It means that the person speaking has a knack for superlatives, and thinks such superlatives are the keys to motivation. Last summer I woke up and the dial on my clock radio shifted. I was lying in bed hearing odd music for what I thought would be NPR, and then I realized for some reason my radio was set to 88.9 WERS.
