Thanks to the glory of YouTube, I've seen ITV's new version of Persuasion. Wonderful Anne Elliot, screwed up ending. But enough of all that. What I really want to say is this: Rupert Penry-Jones is HOT. I mean, holy cravats. Guh to the tenth power.

Spooks. Must find Spooks.

And yes.

It's called MI-5 here in the States. Series 1-4 are out on DVD, you should be able to get them through Netflix. Rupert is only in series 4 of the ones available, but Matthew MacFayden (Darcy in 2005's P&P) is in them too.

MI-5: Jane Austen heroes masquerading as British spies.

Jane Austen heroes masquerading as British spies.

......and with that, DeeDee Baldwin was no more.

I was wrong. Rupert is also in series three. So watch series 1 & 2 for Matthew. He's totally worth it, plus Anthony Head guests in one of the episodes and he takes off his shirt. You wouldn't think that would be hot, but it totally is. Then watch series three to see Rupert and Matthew on screen together.

Darling, you had me at "Austen heroes masquerading as British spies". The Netflix queue tripled in size this afternoon. :D

Hee!

I was wondering what you'd think of this. Rupert Penry-Jones is rather delicious, even though I have to say, I got rather tired of Anne staring soulfully at the camera.

Yeah, that was odd. Even so, I thought she was a perfect Anne. I liked her much better than Amanda Root.

RPJ is totally gorgeous. He's also in something called Krakatoa & there is something else; I've got an article on a programme he was in several years ago now - would you like me to scan it in & send it your way? xx

Krakatoa is a TV period drama - Rupert's really good in it.

He's also lovely in Cambridge Spies, a 4-part BBC miniseries. I don't know if it has been shown in America. People in it who may be interest include Samuel West, Toby Stephens, Tom Hollander and Anthony Andrews.

Must try to get to see this version of Persuasion. Hopefully the ABC will acquire it here in Oz. I quite admire the rather scrumptious Rupert Perry-Jones and look forward to my fix of Spooks every Friday night.

I agree! I mean, my God. No man should be that beautiful. It makes every other attainable man in real life look soo... ick. LOL!
