I need fanfic recs, people. I just read "Heart of Darkness" - which was a great fic, but it ended maddeningly in the middle of the story. Please to give DeeDee recs.

Edward Cullen is hot until I stopped and thought about it and then I got mad. Because Meyer smacks us with his BEAUTY like it is a weapon (which it kind of is) and also because Edward is sort of an abusive control freak. He is like the boyfriend in HS who is bad for you and whom you love more than anyone else because you are young and stupid and you hope he'll change. But yeah hot.

He did annoy me with his control-freak stuff at the beginning of Eclipse (though I wouldn't call him abusive), but the rest of the book was about him letting go of that. So he does change...

Did you read the next two books yet? I couldn't put them down but I felt really guilty about being sucked in. :/ I'll read the fourth book when it comes out.

But The Host? Was so horrible I could not get 50 pages into it.

Yeah, I read all three of them. No plan to read The Host though. I don't even know what that one's about.

from what I read Edward is way WAY to much like a creepy abusive ex I had. I don't care if he changes and becomes Faramir magically. I just can't get past the first part. It upsets me to much. Maybe I'm crazy for it. I don't have a problem with others liking it, but when people in my life (not you my lovely deedee)who know I've had issues with people like that keep telling me I fail because I don't automatically think OMG GREATEST makes me pissed off.

Also I like me some sex in my cheezy romance novels.

Butting in

I think people can have different opinions of Edward and his actions. But like Harry Potter before it, I think that people need to read it themselves and decide what they think, rather than rely on other's opinions. Frankly, I didn't get the creepy or abusive vibe from him, but I know friends of mine did. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And no one should think you "fail" because you don't want to read it or don't like it; nor should anyone think that someone "fails" because they did enjoy it.

And I'm holding out hope for sex in the fourth book, but not holding my breath as the writer is Mormon and has said she won't write anything she doesn't want her kids seeing...

My friend surreal_saetan & I read Twiglight at the same time - neither of us can figure out the hoopla surrounding it. Yeah, Edward is cool, but I'm not fangirling it or him or anything!

I´m totally, TOTALLY in love with Edward. You have no idea.

I love Carlisle too, because, you know, he is experienced and a doctor and gentle, but Edward... God, he´s soooo hot. And cute. He is so cute that sometimes it´s annoying. hehehe
