Nova was still adjusting to the weight of the sword that was strapped against her back. It was nice, having a sword, and she was sure it could come in handy in a place like this where even the cute critters were dangerous. She'd considered the possibility that she might run into someone she knew here, or even another version of herself. It was an exciting prospect, albeit a dangerous one. She didn't want to die from learning too much, but the idea that the knowledge could be available to her was intriguing.

There was always the chance she wouldn't recognize someone from her world even if she did meet them, and Nova thought that was probably worse than not meeting them at all.

During the elevator ride, Nova had been checking their rations pack to make sure everything was in order, and she reshouldered the bag as the door opened and they stepped out into the Wilderness. "It looks awfully lonely down here," she commented, casting her eyes about the area.

The lake was a place of some interest in Adstringendum- if only because it was one of two major water sources and also one of few greenery around an otherwise broken city. But this week it seemed to have a different appeal, and as strangers were seen walking around without memories, Neji stopped by the area to scout through ( ... )

Cara whirled around when the stranger landed on the ground near them. She gripped her spear tightly, but didn't swing it down to a defensive position yet as it was a person. She relaxed when he began speaking, not seeming as though he had any hostile intentions towards them.

"Edensphere's all right," she said. "Weird, but it's not a terrible place to live." They had farms, sturdy houses, running water and many other machines that had seemed completely new to Cara when she'd first arrived there.

She looked the man up and down curiously before giving him a friendly smile. "What's your name? I'm Cara."

"And I'm Nova!" the younger girl chimed in cheerfully, even though her hand had instantly flown to the hilt of her sword at her shoulder when the stranger had landed near them. He must've been hiding somewhere very near to pick up on their conversation, but he didn't immediately move to threaten them and she was a naturally trusting, so she eased up.

"We just came down to explore the area," she added, though that was probably obvious. She and Cara probably looked like proper tourists in this world.

Hinata was still exploring Adstringendum herself. She had arrived not long ago, injured, and then spent a full week as a small child. That didn't really help for exploring your new settings.

She had sort of slipped out of the house. She didn't know why, because she had the right to come and go as she pleased, but she had a feeling that neji and the others were keeping a silent, if vigilant watch on her, which was understandable in a way. She didn't want to worry them.

Everyone had been talking about this elevator, and Hinata headed that way, activating her Byakugan as she got closer. The chakra concentrated around her eyes, making the veins around them stand out in sharp relief.

Sje'd barely started to examine it when the thing moved, provoking a start and a soft exclamation of surprise. And then, people came out. Hinata blinked, Byakugan still engaged. There was no where to hide anyway, and those people were probably as confused as she was.

"H-Hello ?"

Nova blinked at the girl standing in front of them. Today already seemed like it was going to be full of surprises, and here was one of them right in front of her. "Ah! Hello!" she said, head tilting in curiosity at the odd veins around the young lady's eyes.

"Are you all right?" Nova asked, noticing that the girl looked as startled as she was, if not more so. She seemed friendly, though, so Nova took a step forward and smiled reassuringly. "I'm Nova. What's your name?"

The way the veins around the girl's eyes popped out was--kind of unsettling, but Cara did her best not to stare at it. She looked rather shocked to have seen the two of them step out of the elevator, and sounded kind of nervous about it too. Cara couldn't blame her for that; a random machine plopping down next to a lake probably wasn't part of a normal day.

Well, she hoped not. She gave the strange girl a friendly smile. "And I'm Cara--we're from up in Edensphere," she said. "You must live here, right?"

"H-ha, yes, I do ..."

There was really nothing the Byakugan could detect here, and Hinata released it, the veins disappearing and her eyes now their normal, completely white color again.

"I'm Hyuuga Hinata," she said, bowing her head slightly.

She'd been warned about giving names, but she was sure she didn't know any of these people, so her name would probably mean nothing to them and not hurt them.

"I just arrived a few weeks ago. I ... I don't really know where I am myself, really. T-this Edensphere ... is it up in the elevator ?"
