It wasn't three days ago I was telling someone that the next time George Carlin came 'round to doing his comedy in Winnipeg again, I'd probably be the first person in line for tickets. Looks like that ain't gonna happen. You'll be missed, George.

Just got a phone call from my uncle. My aunt, who's been fighting cancer for the better part of a year now, finally succumbed to it. She passed away at 5:00 this morning.

So yeah, he's losing his toe. Not really much else to say about that. My sisters and I went to his apartment yesterday and spent a few hours cleaning it and getting the stink of rot and toe out of the place. Washed the floor with bleach, deep-cleaned the bathroom, and generally gave everything a good, disinfecting cleaning ( Read more... )

Turns out it was a very good thing I took myself a nap during the day on Saturday. Around 8:30 my sister calls asking if me and my cousin want to come on over; they've made a whole lot of food, and my brother-in-law has a new video game that would be fun for us all to play.
