We got up way too early for vacation, but we needed to get ready for our flight. Fortunately we do not believe in wasting time to get all fixed up just to sit on a plane. Comfort is the key. That always saves some time. We met a nice family from (I think) Ohio in the elevator. As is so often the case, they made a comment when they saw one of our Michigan State University shirts. One of us usually wears something MSU-related and we always meet people. Then we checked out and grabbed some coffee/tea while we waited for the shuttle to the airport.
The flight was, once again, thankfully uneventful. We enjoyed the extra leg room of exit rows just like we did on the flights out to Oregon. It is worth the extra expense, at least to us. The guy next to me on the longer of the two flights was a bit of an armrest hog, but I was able to ignore him. Music and books kept us both occupied.
Back in Detroit we got our bags, got the car, and drove home. The extra cost of the more expensive parking was not fun, but in the grand scheme of things it is just another part of the cost of vacation. It is not worth worrying about. We were glad to be home and to see the cats. All in all, we had a really good trip.
