Today I was driving down to my mom's, going about 80.  Everyone around me was going fast.  The south bound people flew down for whatever last minute reasons and the north bound people flew up to escape the present.  On my way I started to think about how every person in this entire state is feeling the same way.  Sure, everyone facing this storm, ( Read more... )

I'm excited. And in all actuality, the GIS people, the higher paid FEMA people that are actually smart and have the most expensive computers for map making and generating models... one of those guys told me a storm of this scale IS supposed hit at least once every three years. So if one didn't hit this year, we would be overdue for one big time. It may not be supposed to hit NOLA every three years, but it is the natural cycle of things for big hurricane to make landfall somewhere in the US. That's why they expect monsoon season every year in Cuba and all around there. It's a natural cycle that has been happening for hundreds of years ( ... )
