I know I already posted once today, but I have a question for the masses...do you think that because we have so many opportunities, it is easier to be unhappy with what we're doing at the moment? Like in Germany, you go down a certain career path and its hard to change from that, but at least you know that's what you're doing, so some of the ( Read more... )

Amen, I wish at times that there was a blueprint of my life that I could check out of the library and check on what I am supposed to do next. I guess that would take some of the "fun" out of it all, but I understand your questions. We all make our choices, open some doors and leave others unexplored. The game of what if can be very entertaining but also very depressing. I feel a little out of the loop without a school path to follow and having to make decisions that will impact the rest of my life many in ways I can never imagine.

hmm, those are good ponderings. i am getting to the point again where i am supposed to be trying to figure out what to do with my life and at the same time there are lots of things that i wish i would have chosen to do differently. but i think we are lucky to have lots of different choices. if i would have stayed on the same "career path" or whatever that i started college with then i never would have gone to wyoming and met you and emily, which would have been unfortunate. and the same thing is not always the best for everyone so it is good that everyone is able to choose different things. wandering is also good i think. i mean, you wandered all the way to germany so that is something, eh? anyway, i'm not really sure if i answered your question or just rambled so i'll stop now. bye.

Thanks for the insights, girls! Good point about meeting MLE and I...what would you have done without us?? And we're certainly glad we were able to snag you for the world of geology. Yes, I am definitely wandering here, in fact one of my German profs aptly called this my "Wanderjahr". Wanderjahr indeed. Sometimes I definitely wish for that road map, though...
