Jinki laughs at Kibum, currently dancing ‘Genie’ in the middle of the crowd with Hyoyeon and Yuri. The diva is at it again; becoming the 10th SNSD lost member. He ponders how the Almighty Key could memorize girls’ dances so fast but takes him several minutes to get their own choreography. He shakes it off, drinking his third cup of apple cider for the night.
“Onew hyung!” Taemin slides beside him with a big grin on his lips. The young boy seems excited - being fidgety and all. He suspects something good happened between them (Taemin and Sulli) and is here to tell the tale.
“Guess what? Sulli agreed on watching the movie together. Your advice worked hyung. Thanks a lot!” He says, giving him a thumbs up.
Jinki messes the maknae’s wavy caramel hair and utters a ‘good job’ before sipping another round. It isn’t really from him though. The advice came from Jjong. When Taemin asked him for help, he did not know what to do.. So he asked Jonghyun. Heck, he never had a girlfriend. Only those small, regular admirations on several girls…
He sees her sitting on a chair at a corner, yawning; her eyes droopy and tired. People pass her and they engage small talks - once in a while making her laugh embarrassingly. Especially Heechul, who goes past her and mocks a ‘Babo’ when he was heading out of the door. However, her cold demeanor returns once again after a while.
He hates seeing her look aloof. It doesn’t suit her despite the fact that it was in her nature to appear that way. Something about that face makes him want to go over there and accompany her. Since Taemin would tell him the details later at the dorm, he may as well go and enjoy himself. After all, they are at a party. He takes another shot of his punch, gathers all the confidence he has and walks over to her place.
Only to stop mid way.
He frowns when she stands up, heads over to a group of people, taps a laughing Taeyeon and whispers something in her ear. Taeyeon replies, nodding her head, smiling back before returning back to the group. His eyes follow her every move as she travels out the door and disappearing from his sight.
Instead of retreating back to where Taemin and his drink were, his body shifts unknowingly and wonders where could she be going?
Back at their dorm perhaps? No, that won’t make sense though; the other members are still here and it’s too early. The toilet? Impossible. He hasn’t seen her touch any food or drink water for the whole night. (Yes, he was keeping tabs on her.) Fresh air? Could be. There’s only one way to find out.
Surprisingly, she heads to the stairs, lifting her feet lightly in each step she takes. Strange because there isn’t really a thing up there. Just a rooftop, that’s all. She seems nervous, every now and then, looks back to check if someone was following her. Thank God, it doesn’t seem she notice him.
Jessica reaches the top, turns the handle, and peers once more to her back. And then she goes outside. He hesitates though about going up. It doesn’t really fit him being there. Maybe she came up there to do something alone and he isn’t really needed. Yet he succumbs all those things in mind and decides to just go to where she was.
And he doesn’t regret it at all.
