May 02, 2008 19:44

After thirty-five days, one hundred and thirty pages and a bunch of flangst, I proudly bring you the Really Short Epilogue of Not As Much Doom, the last part of the Really Big Fic of Doom.   Charlie and I are off to the Caribbean for a long, long nap and a bunch of really strong drinks.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it--this was very different from anything I've written in this fandom before (normally I leave the plot stuff to the experts). I'm glad to hear it worked for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment--I really appreciate it!

Maisy's sunbathing on the beach. ;)

This has been such an ying yang of emotions and demonstrative story from you. I applaud your courage to take this on and give you eight gazillion thumbs up. I love how you ended it with the last line tying back to the first chapter and to Scrutiny.

And I'm up in the balcony with snark and sarcasm waiting.

Great. Maisy sunbathing? Now I'll NEVER get Charlie back. Thanks for that, sweetheart. Really.

I'm glad the callback to Chapter One/Scrutiny worked. I worried about that.

And half the reason I was able to take this on was because you were in the balcony yelling down, "Dude! KILL HIM ALREADY! I got stuff to do." :) Seriously, though, I'm so glad my little experiment worked for you. You know how much I respect your opinion.

There's only so much cha-- wait, that's probably a little bit too graphic on a public post in your journal. Wouldn't want the innocents to become corrupted, now would we?

It was a nice touch. It wraps it all up.

You are so lucky that you didn't hear more of my ideas for this. I think our mutual friend alamo_girl80 would have dropped me like a hot potato for them being too OLTL. ;) It definitely worked. And you know how much I respect your opinion.

Ahhhhhh SO GOOD. I've loved reading this fic, and I love how you end it with Ainsley's POV because the outside-in look at the characters is great. Love Cain and DG. Love the realism. I just love it. Yay you!

Oh, I'm so glad you liked it! That makes me do a (rather uncoordinated) happy dance.

Thanks for taking the time to tell me what you thought. I so appreciate it.

This is the end and a DAMN fine one at that!!!! Such a short epilogue and yet full of so many messages that it might burst with them.
I so loved how you had them lay Jeb to rest beside Adora, with a brand spanking new tombstone I might add. Nice touch.
The final Jeb/Ainsley fluffiness was adorable, to be sure. I'm glad that she got to give Jeb a proper goodbye and was able to reminise in the memories they created together.
The Cain/DG fluffiness was STUPENDOUS as always! I'm glad that you left their relationship still undefined since Cain still had alot of healing to do and hadn't quite forgiven DG just yet. The underlying love was a brilliant touch to this couple's story.
There's still alot of work that needs to be done, but if everyone holds true to each other, they can do it and so much more!
FANTASTIC fic, girlie!!!! I give this baby five out of five stars!
I can't wait to see more of your work in the future!

Meep! No bursting! I don't want to clean up the mess. Hee.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the flangst in this chapter--I worried about finding the right balance between the relationships and show that with the obviously overwhelming emotions of saying a final goodbye. I especially worried about the Cain/DG stuff. I'm so glad it worked for you.

Thank you so much for your love and support for this endeavor. I appreciate it more than you know.

Thank you so much, honey! I really don't know what to say. Other than thank you for your love and support, and that I'm very, very glad you enjoyed the piece. That never fails to bring a grin to my face.
