A successful trip to Ohio! Imagine that!

So, when I was preparing this post, I went a-hunting for some songs about Ohio. To my surprise and disappointment, there aren't that many. Hunh. Here's what I found:

"Ohio" by Neil Young (sample lyrics include: Tin soldiers and Nixon coming / We're finally on our own / This summer I hear the drumming / Four dead in Ohio. - about the Kent State ( Read more... )

Wahey for successful trips to the in laws! Glad it went well! Maybe it's time for you to write a happy song about Ohio, hmm?

Glad to hear it went well! We have loads of foxes in London but it doesn't make me stop being incredibly excited everytime I see one (usually crossing the road with some bit of junk food in its mouth!)

How sad the foxes have been reduced to consuming junk food. Our Sailor will eat some fuckin' junk food, though if I put it out for Blue Eyes or Tickles, they could give a fuck less about it (except for ice cream, of course).

By the way, I've always been amazed at how Tickles comes running for the pints of ice cream. I couldn't imagine how she knew what it was. I finally decided that she was smelling the dairy, but lately I've been eating dairy free soy cream and she still comes running! Now I believe she must just have the shape of the carton memorised!

Well, I wouldn't go overboard.

However, Anna and I made up a song about a stuffed horsey that I got her back when we were doing the long distance thing. It was sung to the tune of "Copacabana" (by Barry Manilow) and sample lyrics include: "Pico... / Pico de Gallo / He's the hottest horse East of Ohio" (Pico de Gallo is his name).

Cool, glad you had a fun time. A successful trip to the in-laws is always something to brag about! Cute fox, we have several that live in the woods near our house. I usually see them crossing the road at dusk/night (I think they're nocturnal??) They always excite me too, like I live in the suburban jungle safari! One time in the early morning on a foggy day I saw a HUGE 12 pt buck crossing the road, it was surreal.

Holy shit. I can't imagine seeing a 12 pt buck in Gainesville. Although, I remember living in that neighborhood and seeing dear in that wooded lot near Main St (near all the car dealerships). In fact, I remember when that part of town was totally wooded. There must have been a LOT of dear back then.

I don't know if foxes are nocturnal. We saw our little guy on a grey Sunday morning around 10am. *shrugs*

The fox is cute - though not as cute as the Jakester! You are bringing up to the lake this summer right? RIGHT? Good.
