Passing through Charlotte

Jun 17, 2008 15:02

I flew to Wrightsville Beach today for a week-long vacation with my dad and grandma (who is 91 years old--woot!).  As the plane took off over Kentucky, I looked out to see miles of farmland.  From above it looked like a succession of well-manicured lawns in a suburb.  Instead of hedges we have very, very straight lines of trees that divide one farm ( Read more... )

There's a time called 5am? *is shocked* LOL.

Have fun on the beach.

(Also I've just sent you a message 'cause I hadn't heard from you in a while and, me being me, didn't check my flist first to see if you had updated. Doing nothing is soo not good for me!)

Oh, that sounds like it's going to be a lovely vacation! I hope you have a good time! You're making me want to go have stay at a hotel by the beach now. ;-)

And your description of watching the landscape below while you are flying totally brought back memories of the first time I flew in a plane. Its so fascinating to look down and see things from a birds eye view!

Sorry for the deleted comment! Ooops, having trouble with sizing that pic, so I thought I'd try again later (bedtime is all to fast approaching). I will perhaps post a new journal entry with the pictures, because it might just be easier. How are things with you? xoxoxo

Ah, no problem! Thanks to the joys of LJ comment notification, I still got to see the pretty beach. :o) *goes to check for your new journal entry now*

I'm doing okay, I suppose. I've been working late a lot this week so haven't made any journal entries since Sunday cause I've been to tired or busy or just not feeling like whining to my f-list about my bad shoulder and other shit. On the plus side, the week has gone by really fast....if only we had BSG to watch tomorrow night. *sigh*

Oh, no. Bad shoulder? ((((((spudcat)))))) I hope it gets better soon! BSG does tend to make everything better, doesn't it? You could always read fanfic instead, though. :D

Oi, miscreant! :D How are ya? Wondered what you'd been up to! Hope the PhD stuff is coming along nicely! :D

Instead of hedges we have very, very straight lines of trees that divide one farm from the next.
Ahh, windbreaks. Reading that makes me nostalgic for the bit of the South Is. where I go to ski. Apart from the mountain (obv.), it's flat as a pancake, split up by those lines of trees.

I got up before 5 AM (and DUDE, I didn't know that time existed)
Uh, dude? It doesn't exist. It's a myth. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. *sticks fingers in ears*

Have a fabulous time at the beach. And I wanna hear about sunshine, LOL. It's cold here! :D

Hey there, zaleti! I've missed you! :D That is an *awesome* icon! I love the blue background--did you add that? And did you darken her scarf? They both really bring out her eyes. Here's a little summer cheeriness to brighten your winter. (I expect to see YOUR summer photos in six months, to get me through winter.) Um, this might not work and I have to go to bed, so if it doesn't work, I'll try, try again later.
