Indiana Votes

"But once the election is over, once the rallies are done, the cameras are gone - we have a lot of work to do. And we have to pick a president who is ready, on day one, to begin that work. And to present the kind of solutions and answers that America is looking for." ~Hillary Clinton, in April "Solutions" speech at IU.

On Bush's war on science. Clinton's exact words: "Open inquiry is at the core of who we are as Americans. Stem cell research will be funded." Hurray for not being stupid!

This primary is getting very tiring and very frustrating.

So true! As much as I'm pleased that Indiana voters are getting enthused, it's been a long campaign. In my town about a month ago, Democrats couldn't even be in the same restaurant without wanting to strangle each other. I had to trade places with my friend when we were out to dinner, because she could overhear Democrats from the opposite "camp" discussing politics. Luckily, I can't listen to two conversations at once, so I was safe. :D

I thought Clinton's speech last night was great for the way she mentioned the Democratic party, its needs, etc. I'll stop now. Before I get carried away. *cdq*

I really don't know enough about the politcs in America to comment intelligently (or even coherently at the moment) so I'm not even going to attempt to.

But poor you. No internet. There should be counseling for that. *nods*

It really is infuriating. And hey, not to worry about not knowing tons about American politics. They're in a shambles right now anyway! I tried to write for you folks across the pond, too, so I gave lots of background. Perhaps I should have added that Republican=red and Democrat=blue. Looks like Obama will probably be the Democratic nominee. The party's had a tumultous time of it! ;D

My internet. . . . it was INFURIATING. That is all. :D

LOL. Well I know enough to know the colours. It was interesting what you wrote but my brain is all splodey at the moment. You may have mentioned earlier (but again my brain is splodey so I can't remember) who are you hoping is the nominee?

I was glad I got to see her speech, too! The one two days ago was also really interesting. It was hard to listen to the opening, when she said "on to the White House." :D Also? She's pretty lucky she *did* win Indiana!

I have a theory that if everyone (every Democrat at least!) who thinks they dislike her would get in the same room with her for 20 minutes, they'd see what you saw and change their mind. That's awesome. I'll pass that along to my dad, who doesn't like her. However, he now feels bad for her, as a person who "worked really hard" and isn't going to get what she wants, after all. She might run again in 2012. Anyway, I never know who to prefer: Clinton or Obama. It'll be nice to finally have a Democratic candidate, at the end of the month!

*is somewhat clueless about American politics but interested nonetheless*

Even thought I'm missing a few pieces of the puzzle, I'm quite fond of Hillary, and yay for the points you summarized from her speech! Especially the one about the war on science, and the bits about change. I like the way she thinks.

Oh, and no internet? That sucks. I know how it is to have random outages. Is it wrong that it when your internet goes away it's like a piece of you went with it? *lip trembles*

Hehehe! Is it wrong that it when your internet goes away it's like a piece of you went with it? *lip trembles* Aww. *Pets you.* No, I don't think it's wrong, at all. The internet may be just a medium for exchange, but when you start exchanging both everyday and important information, it becomes necessary! A few months ago, my power went out around 9:30 PM. It was dark, and without being able to read or get online, I had *nothing* to do. I went to bed early, really disgruntled about my dependence on the internet ( ... )
