There are wacky people out there who would have issues with a kid acting like your friend's. I'm not one of them. But then I'm at "Grandma" age so this kind of stuff is part of my life again. Some people are too worried about the small stuff and not worried enough about the truly important stuff. I think you're a great guy with his priorities in the right place.

I work in special education, and I can tell you that yes, lots of people have problems with people who have disabilities. There are stigmas associated with all of them and people are usually afraid of people that are different and things they don't understand. I admire you for being so open and treating a kid like a kid. I'm sure he had a great day because of you, and I'm sure his mom appreciated it too.
