I think you're right about perception based on liking Matt. To me, he looks like a horrible mess of a man who should not be allowed to make any important decisions at the moment and who grossly misuses his powers. Couldn't he just have planted a thought in the minds of the swat guys like, "Skip this door. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." Selective amnesia about powers always rubs me the wrong way. I have seen quite a few reviews who liked this episode, though, and they all seem to be Matt (and Matt/Mohinder) fans. To each his own, I guess.
I dunno. I hate Parkman but for some reason really liked this episode. You could argue that one's perception of Bennet could change how much you liked the episode. Not only was there a lot of Bennet flashbacking but also we get to see him back doing what he does best without being hindered by Claire. Sure he still spent the episode trying to convince idiots that he knows what he's doing but in the end I think he got his way yes? Or maybe my perception of the episode is all based on the fact that I hate Claire and am glad she wasn't in this episode...>.>
I don't know...I love Noah, but I was still kind of disappointed with the episode. After last week's promo, I expected to see something new and different, but it was pretty much just more of the same. It isn't a revelation that Noah is morally gray or that he's smarter than everyone else.
I hate to say it because they've been on such a roll lately, but this episode was a waste of an hour. And the previews LIED. Answered questions my ass. I can't even argue with you this time because you are so completely right. The characters are acting like morons and it's hard to watch.
1. First you collect information, then you decide on a plan of action. You do not get a tiny piece of info and decide the rest can wait while you go do something stupid (or send someone else to do something stupid). There's this little thing we like to call "planning" that seems to have escaped you.
Peter was pretty stupid for just going wherever Matt told him to.
And Mohinder had a new girlfriend first. Even if he did almost kill her, he did move on.
omg, i luv ur commentary. yea, matt was being pretty stupid this week. actually, i think the writers are making too many mistakes which makes the characters seem dumb. way to go back to season one. reuse the outcome but make it occur in a different city. i didn't understand why matt couldn't just use his mind control when the dudes busted in the hotel instead on just giving up. wtf. poor mohinder, he's always pushed around. yay for daphne being alive though.
The writers are running into problems because they made the characters too powerful. Even Superman had his kryptonite, but the powers they've given Matt would make him essentially unstoppable if he remembered to use them. At this point, their choices are basically to make him stupid or to retcon the whole thing.
