Aw, I adore kid art. My sister now has a BA in Fine Art; yet, my favorite piece of her's is a painting she did in the fourth grade. It is hung in our dining area, I love it.

Henry is a really creative guy and it makes me so happy to see him at work. He is going to be an artist like my sister, I think! :)

We were cleaning out the garage this weekend, and I found a drawing I did of my uncle flying an airplane. I drew it when I was 5 or so, and it was...amazing, haha. It looks so similar to the things William draws now, just a bit more sophisticated. I can hardly wait to see the things he's coming up with a couple years from now. :D

I love seeing inspiration hit William. Last night (when he drew the new monster) he was sitting at the table, and all of a sudden said "I need my paper and something to draw with!!" and I handed it to him from the counter and he started drawing like he knew exactly what he wanted it to be. Then he drew a couple more that were similar. I really wish I could be inside his head to see what gave him the idea, ya know?

I can't remember what the site is, but there was this really hilarious site where this guy critiqued childrens art really harshly, like as if it were a professional work. But I remember everyone was up in arms about it, and it was like come on people, think about whose really getting bashed here? children or the snobby art world?

Haha, I would have loved to see that. It sounds like a good laugh.

I'm getting ready to transition Alex into a toddler bed. The one's without the railing still scare me for now. He fell off the couch again the other night so he's definately not ready to have a bed where if he keeps rolling he'll roll right off. Rails needed for now.

The best part about this one is that its only about 6 inches (at most) off the floor. So even if he rolls out (and he has) he's still pretty safe. Besides, I have the extra crib/toddler mattress underneath, and I pull it out when he's sleeping, so the drop is about 3 inches down onto a mattress, haha.

Good luck with the transition for Alex! :)

That is an excellent idea with the mattress.I think if Alex was sleeping and rolled onto another matress that was that close down he's still stay asleep lol. I have to find a good bed, I want to get a convertible 4-in-1 crib so he can still use the crib and then have a toddler bed, day bed and when he's really big a full sized bed. They grow sooo fast!

Good plan on the 4-in-1. I'm not sure if ours turns into a double or daybed... but it's a crib and "toddler bed" - which is just a three-sided crib, haha. They do grow so fast. Dan wanted to get William a car bed (he asked for one) and I said no because he'll grow out of that waaaaaaaay faster than a plain old twin or double. I always like to buy things they can use for a while - cheaper and a lot less wasteful! :)
