It meant taking off the cruise control of conventionality and knowing that life is not just a shit job and shit possessions and shit reruns on late-night TV. It meant not being marginalized by society's stringent expectations that nobody has any hope of living up to anyway, so why do we even bother. It meant prying people out of their nice neat little shit and making them face how fucking temporary and fleeting everything is.

And it meant having some fucking fun while we did it.
