Holy toledo it's cold out! But at least I don't have to be at work...now the key is peeling myself out of my pajamas and into actual clothes so I can go run some errands and buy some flats, damnit

Is your hair long enough to put up in a bun? That's what I'm going to do (well, a messy bun... because I'm basically the adult female version of PigPen from the Peanuts comics). I usually just braid it and then stick a chopstick through it but for DoV I might try to do the whole hairpins thing.

Please to be not slicing off your fingers! I may swoon...

Yeah I'm thinking a bun of some sort is going to be the easiest solution! The problem is that my hair is so stick straight that getting it to stay up is a struggle...but that's what a lot of hairspray and backcombing are for.

I will refrain from posting a photo of my self-injury, heh.

Mine's pretty straight - what I usually do is braid it, and put an elastic around the end of the braid, then "bun" it such that the elastic is hidden - then the hairstick is trapped.

But I was also thinking of trying for a more Insane Helena Bonham Carter thing by putting it in little braids while it's wet and tricking it into waves...

Japanese cheesecake is SO GOOD. It's not dense like NY cheesecake is...it's more like...cheesecake souffle. And this recipe only has a smidge over a bar of cream cheese in it, so it's not so calorific as normal cheesecake (although um, it does have 6 eggs in it).

I think I am in agreement with you both--bun it is, maybe with some fun accessories! Like a hello kitty dangle. Hee, hee, heeeee

Japanese cheesecake? I am very intrigued.

I am absolutely useless with hair, which is why (a) I never do wigs when I am costume-designing and (b) I have had the same hairstyle for about 15 years. I like the barrel-curl idea though. And I have about a million feathered headpieces and clips if you want any.

I go to work every day with my hair in one of two er...scenarios (I hesitate to call them styles): loose and messy, and in a ponytail. :)

I haven't cut into my cheesecake yet, but it looks good! It rose a lot which is impressive considering how effing cold it is here!

I sooo want to see pictures of you all gussied up for DOV. I've been beside myself wanting to catch one of the DOV shows since it started last year! I'll live vicariously through your fabulousness!
