It was gorgeous! And then when the wind blew, there were showers of petals...so pretty :)

Beautiful. Can you believe I've never made it to the DC cherry blossom festival? Too many tourists make me edgy...

Too many tourists make me crazy too--we made the mistake of walking through Times Square today on our way to the subway--ARGH. But the cherry blossom festival here is probably nowhere near the scale of the DC one, hehe.

The DC bloom is pretty amazing, though it has a pretty narrow and unpredictable timeframe so it doesn't necessarily match up with the festival here. You should come down for it next year -- it's earlier in the spring, so one could do both.

Your pictures are gorgeous. I can almost smell those lilacs from here.

I may have to! The more cherry trees, the better.

Ohhhh, so beautiful! Cherry blossoms and lilacs make me happy. I sniffed the lilacs at Longwood Gardens yesterday - mmmmmmmm. Not enough lilacs on the east coast - in Wisconsin they're everywhere.

I love the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I told you I got married there, right?

Yes I actually remembered that you got married there because we walked past the Palmhouse :) Those lilacs smelled so awesome. It took all of my self control to not break a branch off and run away with it.

Year Three I've missed it since moving to Brooklyn, yay.

Between Carrie getting sick and me still recovering from the half marathon Saturday, we basically never made it over the threshold of our building Sunday.

:(

Great pics, though! At least I can feel like I was there in spirit.

(when the hell are we doubledating for dinner!?!)

There's always next year :) Besides, a half marathon is a much bigger accomplishment than milling around, sniffing flowers :)

(And soon, I hope!)
