What's your name for the cup, sir?

Because the name Elbert is so unique, Starbucks baristas almost always get it wrong. "Albert? Gilbert? Elmer? Ver?" It gets tiring. I've tried "God", but I got tired of the stares from other customers nearby. "COFFEE FOR GOD! ...GOD?"

To simplify, I just gave them a name that's familiar to everyone: John.

although my name is pretty common i've been dying to try out
this name is starbucks

"FREE" or "FRIE" - it's swis hehe

so they'll call out: "Coffee for Free, coffee for Free"

Hilarious! I remember Yan Yuzon (who used to be FWD's associate editor) would pull those baristas' legs (and freak out the other customers) when he would give the names "Noberto Manero" and "Osama Bin Laden" :)

Heh, Yanny also pulled out the "Chavit Singson" at the height of uhm, Chavit Singson-ness.

Hey, at least the barista knew how to spell "Sean!"
