I'm employed. Started working last Wednesday and so far it's going well. Looks like it will be lots of fun though at the moment I'm banging my head up against a "it doesn't work and I haven't even broken it yet." But hopefully I'll get it working soon so I can start breaking it.

Just watched V for Vendetta. Other than a couple over done scenes the movie was great.

I had a talk with a friend over dinner today during which he told me I had changed his view on education through our talks a couple years ago. In particular I'd given him an appreciation for education. In my mind education is not the means to some end, but rather a goal in and of itself. My cat was put to sleep today.
Though it's sad, it wasn't a shock. Her time was clearly very limited.

For a while I've been planning on working at MIT doing Tech Support with the DITR team, 3 days a week, and working on making a copy of Avalon Hill's Titan in C++ and then writing a good AI for it. Working at MIT pays well and the programming project is fun and is the type of thing I might want to do in the future. That's the basics of my summer ( Read more... )
