Do US students not usually have single rooms, btw? Or rooms with light fixures? I've seen a load of American TV which shows uni. students in schared rooms but I thought that was just a TV thing. Also, it always takes me a while to get over the uni. students not automatically being old enough to buy alcohol thing :P
Thanks Most dorm rooms are shared, and are usually quite tiny, just big enough for two beds, desks, and bookshelves. Some public university dorms are also not nice in a very serious way, with cinderblock walls and bad lighting. However, most of them have some sort of light fixture built into the ceiling, so my dorm room is odd in that regard.
Housing at Bennington is not typical of American universities, but there isn't much about Bennington that is typical, which is why I'm so happy to be here.
