Needlebooks

So, many people have done embroidered needlebooks - and their documentation focuses on where the embroidery pattern is from, and what adaptations they made. Other than a mention on the West Kingdom Needleworkers Guild site of "this needlebook is a 16th century type" - I can find no easily obtainable period references to the use of needlebooks with ( Read more... )

Check with Mistress Liriel of Forgotten Sea. I'm pretty sure she has said that we can't really document the shape that is popular. She has spent a fair amount of time looking for documentation. Needlebooks are also popular in modern stitching and, of course, very handy, but no extant ones have been found that I know of.
