My girl, the one who struggles with math, was able to solve "X + 10 + 6 + 15 = 34" for X tonight, by herself, with no coaching or correction. It was after an hour of patient teaching and praise. She might not be able to do it on demand tomorrow or next week, but I am guessing with only minor correction and reinforcement the next time won't be as ( Read more... ) -

Kids doing great in school. Kate's grade is up to a B and we're going to continue working on it every night. Turns out the whole school is struggling with math as just this year they changed the entire math curriculum school wide. But in every way the kids are doing fantastic. So we had the snuggle time I mentioned earlier. We hit soccer. Kate and I played some, and I watched G man some. Then lunch. Then Target. Got Ms. Bug a shirt to decorate at school for the field trips. Got a toaster. The kids seem to like toast in the mornings. Then out to renfest ( Read more... ) -
