i also was called for jury duty, back in may, and never went. I expect the civil service nazis to kick down my door any minute now.

nah, they can't prove that you ever received the letter from. so the only way you get in trouble is if you respond saying you will be there and then don't show. though i missed the first day of jury duty and didn't get in trouble. *shrug* they paid my milage but not for missing work :<

i wasn't called for any cases so it was lame, i showed up for an hour on 2 different days and then was sent home.

What i never understood was why you were supposed to feel obligated to serve on a jury in exchange for the right to be a citizen, the way i figure it if i pay my taxes i should automatically get citizenship, and if i CHOOSE to put my name in the jury duty hat, thats fine.

I still say there should be professional jurors, like the fair witnesses in Stranger In A Strange Land, who are paid a salary to be full time jurors.

I was good and did not thieve the kitten. I asked the neighbor and he said they couldn't keep them, and that they were looking for homes. I homed all three last night.

all four are all alive and well...
a little grumpy this morning becuase the house is cold, but other than that they are all fine
