I recommend starting with unreg'ing the dll, and then install the patch (which will require a reboot at the end).
And, of course, and always, it's good to keep your virus checker updated and run regularly. If you know anyone who doesn't have antivirus protection and refuses to pay, I'd like to recommend Clam Win.
I've never used it (which isn't too surprising, since I rarely use Windows), so I looked it up. C-Net rated AVG with a five stars (their highest rating). So, I'll definitely give it a look.
Thanks for the tip! I've done everything, but clamwin doesn't run on either of my machines. It returns instantly with an empty log and says that it's done. It seems to do this on any system I run it on; ever seen this?

Bummer. I've never seen that behavior. I wish I could offer more information. If you haven't already, I'd uninstall it and install the newest version, but I have no deep insight.
