I have hijacked tsuki_chama's EeePC. It is smaller and lighter than the book I am carrying for train reading. OHGODSIWANTONE. Am seriously considering blowing 250 quid on the first genuinely portable laptop I have ever seen. Does it do much else of substance? No (four gigs' HD, for crying out loud). The EeePCs do look very shiny... apparently they're intending to do one with a lrger screen (9" rather than 7") and bigger SSD and more RAM. I'm tempted to wait, even though I'd love one right now. :)

Due out in May in the US as I heard it, and gods know when it'll be out in Europe, let alone at an approachable price. By the time both conditions are fulfilled I can probably get another one, since I imagine that will take well over a year. So mine was acquired today for 230 quid including Eric's staff discount and is currently being used to provide Ben with maps for each planet in Mass Effect without leaving the couch XD
