Good luck with the storms, I never experienced one when I lived in Florida myself. Stay safe and don't worry too much about it, you'll be fine. People there are usually used to this kind of thing by now and know how to stay safe in them. Just stick by the people who know what they are doing. Distance does really put a strain on friendships, but you do what you can. Something I've learned recently is that even though it might be tough to maintain a friendship, once you loose touch its not that hard to reconnect with an old friend. You both might have changed some but if you were close before, it surprising how fast you swing back into familiarity.
