Satellite-guided lasers, mounted on lampposts (like those Big-Brother-Cams). During a snow emergency / icing hazard, you just zap the ice away. Not hot enough to vaporize it; just to melt it. Then there should be shop-vacs mounted on street sweepers or zambonis to suck up the melted water. So you get a nice, CLEAN, snow-free street!!
Will warn people not to park there ahead of time. ["North Charles Street, between North Avenue and University Parkway, will be subject to periodic laser snow removal between the hours of 11pm and 7am. NO PARKING OR LOITERING. Violators will be vaporized. Thank you for your cooperation."]
Am thinking large office parks and campuses would have their own mini-snow lasers, maybe mounted on the same zamboni as the shop vac.
For what you've accomplished they should come up with a snappier title. That said, congratulations!! Let me know when we are celebrating this impressive (if under-titled) feat!
