Happy-sad. Usually I am all for Stevie/Xabi, but this time...IDK, I guess I was hoping that Iker would realize he was in love with Xabi and say something, do something. Feels like Iker has a sad ending, but I'm happy that Stevie/Xabi were happy at end though. And your writing is excellent as usual.

Oh my god. OH MY GOD.

Seriously, all of this...it's just flawless and perfect! It's just something about this that's so incredibly beautiful and poetic.

So, Xabi was in love with Iker when he lived in Spain, right? And Iker did not notice it to start with, and didn't have any feelings for Xabi either. I can be wrong, but Iker fell for Xabi, didn't he? Like, when he said

"at the bar, xabi relays the drinks when iker says, 'this is not what i expected.'"

but also this

iker puts out a hand to stop him, fingertips resting briefly on the back of his hand, before he pulls out a couple of notes from his pocket and pays the bartender. 'that's not what i meant.'

and the second time when Iker comes to visit, he says this

"outside the restaurant they hug, he feels iker's hand cup the back of his neck, pulling him closer he whispers, 'i think you're making a terrible mistake.' just as suddenly he pulls away to flag down a taxi, doesn't look at xabi until he opens the door and says, 'probably shouldn't keep him waiting.'" which is

i love your breakdown and interpretation of iker. he's a tricky character to try to pin down but i can yes, xabi was in love with iker in spain.

oh my god, that proposal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M LITERALLY SWOONING. THAT IS THE CUTEST THING I'VE EVER READ. IF I WAS A BOY I WOULD SO DO THIS. (in fact i'm kind of hoping my future fiance reads this & does that, because. just. oh my god.)

i loved this; it was sweet & beautiful. what made it sad, though, was having read the sequel/prequel/etc & knowing what happens at the end. :( but, god. beginnings are always so lovely, aren't they?

well, i was all rainbows and puppies and kitties at the proposal b/c it was beyond cuteness and I love marriage proposals between Stevie & Xabi, which equals happy, happy love :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

but then I read your sequel/prequel and I was like DDDDDDDDDDD: and Iker is in love with Xabi and Xabi is clueless or otherwise he would have never said yes to Stevie *cry*

(i don't know if you've read the other fic and if that may have an affect on your view of maybe not just iker but all the characters in the end? i know it definitely played an important part when i was writing this because i knew how i had already written the end.)
