I swear, I don't know which case of mistaken identity was worse for them... this or pandas.

I've learned two things since I started at the aquarium...

1. People are stupid.
2. People don't read.

I was there for this and I'm STILL trying to figure that one out. Our animals get mistaken for all sorts of things (I've sadly become immune to the whale sharks being called whales, and more recently by a little girl, elephants). The belugas alone have been mistaken for dolphins, manatees, 'giant' sea otters (no such thing), pandas, and now manta rays. I don't know which is worse of the last two... I mean, manta rays do live in the water too, but at least pandas are mammals...

The worst question I ever got though was this: "So, whale sharks are the only whales that aren't mammals, right?"

... I did smile and think of you when I saw one of the comment cards this week, though. One of the guests wrote that we should "get more fuzzy animals, like penguins!" ... last I checked, penguins are feathery. XD

I do remember that scary book you showed me. XD Hopefully though, once you get to meet Nico, Natasha, and Maris, you'll start to fear belugas less.

... if all else fails, just pretend they're pandas or manta rays. XD
