Domesticity and Star Trek - IDIC?

May 30, 2009 17:15

Well, I don't post much, do I? But I iz still alive, and keeping pretty well, if a bit sneezy, thank you for asking ♥

I've been generally busy with work, and school, and some nice people coming to visit me, but I've been dopey and lurky and short of coherent things to say - so no change there really ;-)

But a few topics seem worthy of remark

I'm glad Jet's all right. He would be frightfully heavy to climb down a tree with, so I hope that MIB is well too. Any continuation of the interesting behaviour around water?

I have Su's photo of Rose posed among the daffodils (she was astonished that Rose would actually sit still for it, not having realised that Siamese are attention hogs) on my screensaver, and it gives me a little lift of good cheer every morning when I turn the Infernal Device on.

Jet is fine - only his dignity was bruised, I suspect. We have given him various other bowls of water - he's vaguely interested but trhe novelty has mostly worn off, it seems.

I'm glad you screensaver pleases you - I hope the ratio of good cheer to aggravation in your day tends in the right direction. *hugs*

MIB has very visible injuries from being an honorary fireman - but is apparently being nonchalant/macho about them (and they're not really serious ones). It does make me wonder how well his clothing of the time survived though.

Ah, Star Trek! I suppose if you've been lurking you know my thoughts on that one!

Yes, Zachary Quinto is quite pretty, isn't he? He can't hold a candle to Leonard Nimoy though, not even at his advance age.

Edit: Also I love your icon. I didn't realize when I first watched this episode that he got that far off the ground.

Edited again because I clicked the wrong icon. Sorry to flood your inbox, if you have alerts turned on.

It's a good scene in that icon. However, the actual jump height is less than it appears because of the mid-air squat. Compare his waist position with those of Uhura and Scotty. Though he did still have to raise his overall centre of gravity that bit higher.

It's still pretty impressive. Basically, Chekov = Awesome.
