In a thread, someone commented that the 'acceptable' average of previous lovers for a man is 'one a year'. I'm relieved. I don't look it but I was born in 1772.

Certain liminal moments hit and show you. Who would you stick with when they're having a tough time? Who sticks with you in such moments? The distinction says a lot about each of you.

We have a functional 1997 Mazda Protégé in the the garage, which we need to be rid of rather soon.

The good:

• Runs perfectly well and will start, stop, and go on command.
  
• Engine and brakes and transaxle check out well.
  
• Has been well-maintained for its whole life.
  
• Suspension is healthy relatively quiet and it's a smooth ride
