I've been reading some of Love Hina by Ken Akamatsu and I must say that I find it amusing. Here's a brief summary of the plot: the protagonist, Keitaro Urashima, is trying to keep a childhood promise (made fifteen years ago) by getting into Tokyo U.

It's hard to do better than the summary on the inside cover.

Love Hina... Dragon Ball.... Er. I can't think of any similarities.. other than the obvious few of course. But what are the others?

In vol 6, Hinata.45, "The Sudden Goodbye," Su has developed a "turtle detection radar" that finds anything called "Kame." If you look at the illustration, it looks almost exactly like Bulma's "Ball Detector"[aka Dragon Radar].

If nothing else, then it's an example of one manga paying homage to another. A way of saying "hey, I like this other person's work."

Scratch that theory... Gen. Blue is more of a meglomanic/narsis [he finds beauty only in himself].

A perfect example of this would be an amoral body-builder (obsessive).

To be blunt, Gen. Blue is sociopathic (understands morality but is indifferent toward it).
