Valentine's Day 2010

Feb 14, 2010 22:16

As I pulled into the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness this evening, I was a bit surprised to find it full. Given that it was Sunday--and Valentine's Day--I had hoped to get in a good workout without the crowd, but here I was searching fruitlessly for a spot as if it were 5:00 p.m. on a weekday shortly after New Year's. Looking at all the cars ( Read more... )

Ah, see - that's where you made your fatal mistake, Hoserella. You let the elevator doors CLOSE without chatting her up?? Missed opportunity! You could have flexed your biceps and possibly squeezed a phone number out of her! No worries - I'm sure there are tons of flabby losers on lj who would jump at the chance to date you. It's cool, the girl at the desk may still be there when you work up the nerve to say one of the many clever and witty things you've been planning to say to her for weeks. ("I star in a webisode, you should check it out")

I don't go to the gym any more since I got pinkeye there - Bally's. But I did invest in a set of P90X DVDs and they deliver as promised - best shape of my life. You do have to get some equipment but it's minimal - a set of barbells, a band, yoga mat if you don't have carpet. I highly recommend it if you are sick of your gym experience. But then again, if you go there to meet girls...

oh yeah, you're working again! what do you do these days?

The secret behind Tony Horton's system is Muscle Confusion™, something I've been practicing for years. It works like this:

1) Don't go to the gym or engage in any physical activity for months.
2) Go to the gym and try to lift the heaviest possible weight on every possible machine.
3) Your muscles won't know what to think!

P.S. When I first read that "a band" was a needed in order to make use of the P90X program, I was totally thinking Do you have to be in a band? Or does a band just have to be playing while you're working out?

Yes I do already know that, because at one point during my workout I heard the distinct vocalizations of a person engaged in particularly rigorous intercourse. When I turned to look, I saw a guy--flushed and covered in sweat--clearly trying to have sex with the hack-squat machine.

hey man... good to see you posting again.

I got a job now too... since 05 actually. Being an adult blows.
I still long for the old days where i did absolutely nothing productive for anyone day in and day out.

Ah, the good ol' (unproductive) days...I long for them as well.

I have had my job since late '03, which is right about the time I stopped posting on LJ. Coincidence? I think not.

What's up, Ray-Ray? elhoserboy February 25 2010, 06:49:15 UTC
Dude, 24 Hour Fitness on Ocean Ave. is crawling with such disgustingness--pools of sweat on equipment, sink drains clogged with pubes, old people in the hot-tub--that you should consider yourself lucky if you manage to get out of there with nothing worse than an STD.
