It was fun, Dan is ♥, Yaz needs Clara to teach her how to force the Doctor to communicte and the Irish Lady was fab.

Oh gosh, when Dan volunteered to sacrifice himself against the Dalek so Yaz and Thirteen could work out what was going on-! He's amazing! Irish Lady aka Sarah aka Aisling Bea was GREAT. Honestly, I'm kind of sad Sarah isn't going to be a companion because she did a lot of the "no, I'm not going to just trust you and be nice" that has been missing from the series ever since Chibnall took over. Unless she does a Donna and comes back, which would be AWESOME. And poor Yaz. I feel terrible for her. Even Dan's well meaning interference isn't going to fix this. :/

MY favourite moment was him grabbing an iron and a ski to defend themselves against the Dalek. Just fabulous! Here's to John Bishop!

Irish Lady aka Sarah aka Aisling Bea was GREAT. I missed that, but this is one of the few episodes from Chibnall's run that I want to rewatch so I'm looking forward to it! Bishop has brought some much needed energy and comic timing and it really works.

You can tell that defiance has been lacking because Thirteen was so taken aback that Sarah didn't IMMEDIATELY obey her and had her own ideas about what to do! The Doctor actually had to WORK to convince Sarah and it took a good few tries before she finally got through.

(I love Aisling Bea anyway, so was thrilled that her part was as awesome as she deserved.)

She is absolutely not getting into a relationship and I feel for all these shippers on my social feed who are getting so excited about their ship sailing.
At least it's canon that Yaz has feelings, which I guess is something.

Happy New Year! The cat story was a lot of fun. (And not to perpetuate any stereotypes, but ... I used to have a tortoise shell cat and she could open doors too. In my experience, tortoise cats (n=2) ARE smarter than other cats! I would still love to have an orange though ;-)

Aisling Bea For a future companion - I loved how she was sceptical and then very brave. It’s what’s been missing I think from the Chibnall era. Everyone has just trusted the Doctor and been all nice. She was her own person.

I think you're right - when I think of The Fam, they were always just stood in a line delivering lines, not challenging the Doctor or pushing back.

omg I am now imagining Mel & Thirteen. Mostly due to poor Peri never managing to get Six to do ANYTHING, and Mel has him on an exercise bike drinking carrot juice! *g*

I did NOT catch Pauline at all until the internet pointed it out.

It was SO GOOD to see Irish actors playing Irish characters and not Stage Irish or pretendy Americans or having an English person put on a dodgy Irish accent for the face time calls.
So much. It all felt like it could have been straight out of Derry Girls, the Irish vibe was strong.

And also being willing to challenge/call out the fact that the dude hung onto his exes' shit and only showed up the one day he knew Jeff wouldn't be working EVERY YEAR???
Yes, it was very nicely done. The whole 'Oh god are you a serial killer??' - because well, that was definitely an option.

I meant to say I am now following Jorts and Jean not I am not following them, I need my eyes tested LOL They are the best, along with Bród and Misneach Higgins (The President's Doggos!)

My brain is very much goo, but I get why the Old Who would do 4-5 episodes to cover a single story, and I think more Flux/Time Lord Victorious type series could work really well. It is a shame we had such a long wait to get to this series but I'm glad we have more adventures with Thirteen coming. But yes, she's very Thirteen, trying to figure herself out while also trying to figure everything else out... I kind of get an aro vibe from her compared to Ten, Eleven and Twelve who all give me allo-ace vibes. *shrugs* Thirteen definitely does not know how to deal with Yaz's crush. But I love that Dan just straight up told her so she had no more plausible deniability. But those shippers will definitely be howling like the TenRose shippers.

Ahhh, that does make more sense! :D

Flux might have tried to cram TOO many things into one (but rather that than the alternative *g*). I love the Classic Who format, so I'm there for multi-episode stories.
