Firstly, a nitpicking comment: Zidane's heritage is Algerian, not Argentinian. That makes the "terrorist" slur more a little more "apt"...
Secondly, I think the fact that "terrorist" has become a sort of socially acceptable slur is not due to Bush/Howard bandying it about. Terror, terrorism and terrorists have been around a lot longer than either of them. Of course, post-2001 a lot more people know about the concept than used to, but that doesn't mean it was invented then.

but dammit you're proving my point- way i see it if you go back far enough into western culture, let alone world history, everyone has some reason to hate everyone else. but what the hell's the point??
