when you and your love have birthdays 2 days apart, there is much planning and reckoning that must occur. you don't want to rain on the other love's thunder parade by extending your birthday beyond its good time nor do you want to squish your birthday into one single event, because everyone likes to have their glory time. d and i reconciled this ( Read more... )

Sounds like the birthdays were an awesome time! Here are all the tea places in the East Bay that Yelp has listed. Lots to choose from!

Yeah, I arrived late to the show last night and left early. Nico wasn't even there, nor the guy from Destroyer, who's my favorite... Both bands sounded great though, but my intermittent sinus headache was bugging me.

None of the tea places in the e. bay at first glance seem as charming as the place we went to in Noe Valley; however, either the Far Leaves place in E-ville or in Elmwood look good to me....

Dan said the show was great, I was bummed I missed it. I came home from work and slept for 3 hours, then my sis came over with some extra spicy tom ka gai soup and we watched alias, which was helpful, of course. I'm still feeling sinusy yucky, and my nose is hecka stuffed. But, since I'm not bartending tonight because of the illness (elly to the rescue) I'll likely be in tomorrow to work.

It looks like the Far Leaves closes pretty early, so we should go when we're not working, like a Wednesday..?

Yeah, the show sounded great. But since I'm short, I couldn't see any of the musicians. Daniel said the New Pornographers' drummer was twirling the stick between each beat. Wish I coulda seen that!

that's actually our friend Maggie (Ian's ex-lady) who's wearing the hat, but yes it is an Elly hat!
