What NOT to wear

May 18, 2008 14:04

FYI:  It's never ok to wear white, a shade of white, champagne, cream, blah blah at another person's wedding unless the bride specifies that it's ok.  It's the bride's day to shine so after paying $50,000+ for a wedding you should let her have her way dammit ( Read more... )

agreed! that, or wearing a slutty/attention grabbing dress... i've been to one of those weddings where a girl(the bride's half-sister) wore a bright 80's pink j-lo boob tape grammy's dress (if you know which dress i'm talking about). totally inappropriate and if i were the bride i would rip that dress off her myself and hand it back to her with a garbage back and tell her to leave!

every wedding has a requisite slutty girl in attendance. so how did that bride react?

Some people just shouldnt be invited to weddings. A university friend of mine decided that she was going to wear a white chinese chong sum styled dress to her ex-boyfriend's wedding, she asked me for my thoughts on the dress. I told her that I didnt think it was such as good idea to go to the wedding in the first place (her ex-boyfriend is her neighbour and her family and his family are really close)as it was going to uncomfortable for the bride and that wearing white was a big No No but she said that it wasnt totally white (it had red rose on it - it only covered 1/3 of the dress, so white as the major colour) and that it would show off her tan. She wanted him to see what he was missing. I just dont understand that frame of mine especially seeing that she was going to drag her current boyfriend with her to the wedding. In the end the current boyfriend didnt go, she went on her own with her parents but still not right or acceptable.

that is especially unacceptable considering that she was the ex. how disgustingly inappropriate!

i've seen a sequin dress on a guest once, lol.

talk about attention grabbing.

would it be tacky to note it's a black/white only affair?
