As mentioned previously, my Texas friends have all (or so it appears) migrated to Facebook. So far, I don't find it better than LJ, nor is it really a replacement. It seems designed for quick little snippets, the sort of thing you'd mention if you and your friends still all went to school together, and saw each other 15 times a day. I found the best way around the character limit is to make a title post and then comment on your own post. There is no character limit on a comment post! Which is good 'cause I got lots to say :)

I agree with your assessment and your decision to keep both accounts. The FB thing is fun to see what is up with people quickly, but it's too quick and casual. The generation behind us seems to want all their content in small pieces, so my kids are fine with an endless series of one line posts, but I expect more. Call me old school I guess.

And I miss you so! Any chance you may head this way soon?
