Rats. Dentist says I need a filling. I don't have a single one at present (had fillings in baby teeth but none in adult set) and I was hoping to keep it that way.

Apparently the trouble spot is right where one of the wires of my plate had started forcing my back teeth apart before I got the bridgework some years back. Surprise, surprise.

Does anyone want a rather elderly and slightly battered DC-01 Dyson vacuum cleaner free of charge?

This morning I saw a seagull trying to fly while simultaneously scratching its ear with its foot.

I find it encouraging that humans aren't the only creatures who try to do this sort of ridiculous thing and who look very silly when they find out it doesn't work.

What is the etiquette if someone de-friends you? Are you allowed to ask them why, or is the done thing simply to pretend not to notice?
