this is a really great way of looking at it! so you don't have one best friend, but you have a bunch of friends who are good friends in different ways and for different things.
People fill different roles in our lives. I've found few people I can call "friend" but there are a lot of acquaintances that I can enjoy time with but not necessarily sharing my more personal life. Nicely done.
True! I have lots of acquaintances too. And lots of people who know me really well, and I them. I probably have like 4 people in the world I think of as my best friends. And they're all really different! And other people I connect with on various levels, but I'm trying more to just enjoy those friendships and not worry so much about comparing or labeling them, just being there for each other and being good friends together!
I understand this all too well, though I don't have many RL friends these days apart from my husband. For most of my life, if I had a best friend, I was rarely their best friend. But all of those friendships have been a little different, as different as all those other people, so as you noted... sometimes the network of friends is what really sustains you.
Yes! I think especially creative types just have so much going on, so many interests, it only makes sense we'd need lots of different people to connect with. :) Thanks for commenting!
