When I meet a person who wants to discuss books at length, I'm sure they can sense my desperation. They may even be able to smell it. My first thought is to cripple them, so they can't escape.

Feed them food.... I'm sure discussing whatever I'm reading is why I get so much free food at various restaurants around town.

Haha, funny you say that. I frequently offer people food anyway, although I usually just do it by inviting them for dinner. I have a theory that single working people do not often enough make time to cook for themselves, because of lack of time and because it's just not very motivating to get groceries, cook, and do dishes all by yourself. And since I do cook every day...I like to share the love. :) It halves the effort and gives me someone to talk to.

So I'm not the only one who's had that feeling. I don't think about crippling, but I automatically look for a corner to back them into.
