Well, unless your entire torso has shrunk along with your waistline, then shrinking your sweaters wouldn't help that much. ;) Sweaters will shrink in all directions, so they'll get shorter and the arms will get tighter, and more importantly I think, the shoulders are gonna shrink and the arms will get shorter also. It'll make for a pretty uncomfortable sweater in the end.
