Friday was my birthday, and I had lunch with a bunch of work friends at Red Robin. Drew and Nina came as well. Ah, and the return of The Princess GagtmCouple of years back, a group of us went to RR and Jim put his name down for a table. Now Jim's a somewhat fussy and cantakerous character, and I hit on this idea for a gag. I quietly went to the ( Read more... )

None of us were super-smart or charismatic or even good-looking, things that would set us apart.

The duck isn't giving himself enough credit!

But yeah... good story. It's too bad about your friend. I'm glad that you now have more than one (Banana Republic) shirt on your back, though. :)

Happy (belated) birthday Noel!

And yes, Duck isn't giving himself enough credit. Duck is super super smart. And charismatic. And good looking.

Oooh, and the part where you mentioned you work for a "great" software company? That reminds me - hey Nina, I2P is running on a "what would Bill do" idealogy. :) We were sitting around looking at our (crap) I2P idea and thinking "Hrm, there's similar ideas to ours out there. Ooh, what would Bill Gates do? BUY OUT ALL OUR COMPETITORS! We'll do the same with our (imaginary) money!"

I2P sucks. :( Makes Dr. Coyle happy though.

I liked this response up to the part where it says I'm smart and pretty and from there it got sidetracked with this other stuff I don't know or care about.

Please try again, and next time stay on focus (my beauty).

Thanks.

Oh, my bad. :( Okay, ignore the first post.

Noel is super smart and super pretty. Who needs American Idol on Fox? I have my Programmer Idol, Noel. His dark hair reminds me of soot dusting a chimmney. There has never been a more beautiful sight than seeing his fingers dance lightly over the keyboard when coding (neglecting the fact that it was a holiday weekend when I was in Seattle and nobody was working). Just the simple thought of Noel makes my day happy and brighter.

better? ;)

Happy Birthday, Noel! I had it on my calendar but lost it, being sucked into work.

So, what's it like being so damn old?
