I was flipping through a catalogue today, one that I picked up on the return flight from Amsterdam this summer. It's the sort of standard-issue Airline fare, where a variety of companies offer to sell you a an assortment of expensive, fundamentally useless products. Had some friends over Saturday, and Melissa, myself, and Jill jumped into the freezing abyss of my October pool at 3am in the morning. It felt a bit like playing tackle football with Frigidairia the Ice Monster. Frigidairia also coughs ice cubes.

Also, go Red Sox. They're no Cleveland Indians, but hey, who is these days.

I went wine-tasting at a vineyard on the Rhein River, about 100 km west of Frankfurt on Friday. Fascinating place. This weekend I was in Heidelburg, a pleasant university town with a stunning castle. Finally got a new desktop computer yesterday, 3.0Ghz Intel P4, 200 GB HD, 1 Ghz RAM, 17" Lcd Monitor, also the first Dvd player I've ever owned. Muy Cool. The other computer was ok, but I had to shake the hard drive every few minutes to keep it running.
