Bravo! (Hardly awake here yet, but still the most coherent synopsis I've seen on LJ yet!)

I'm for real reform. We need a public option. Without it, the bill is poised to turn into another feeding trough for the insurance industry.

Very nicely said!

I was thinking about all this while in the shower this morning from a skeptic's point of view. (It was caught in the midst of thoughts about the so-called moon hoax and charlatans selling crapola.) If you think about it, what's the only sector who will lose out on gov't health care? The insurance companies. They've had a nice fat cash cow for ages and now it might slip through their grasp.

The people I feel the most sorry for are the ones who've been duped by the lies coming from the Insurance Company (and twisted GOP) shills. They have no idea they're being used. And they also have no idea they look like idiots spouting lies about killing grandma.

If I manage to work this in to my Advanced Problems class, would you mind if I quoted (with attribution) a few pieces from this post?

Bravo! Succinctly and beautifully explained. Unfortunately Americans have been fed on free market BS for a long time and are willing to buy the right wing line.

Thanks! And you're right. Ever since Ronald Reagan, we've been fed this line of BS about everything the government does being bad. Well, when you elect people who believe government is bad to the government, you don't get the kind of good stewardship we all hope for.

A woman on my friends list wrote the following a few days ago and I thought it nailed the concept on the head.

Thanks for the link. It is absolutely brilliant. Elsaf's entry and hers complement each other very nicely.

I haven't said too much about this yet but I've been thinking about it a lot.

May I link to this entry on my LJ? I am working up some sort of comment on the entire thing (and how it just baffles me completely why this conversation is even happening at all down there) and would love to point people to something that will be way more coherent than what I could ever say...

All links are welcome. That's why I didn't friends lock this post. :-)

Thanks!
