Congratulations!!! Back to academia with you!

As for helping out -- we still need to discuss on this end, but it seems likely that we'll be able to make it up sometime. :-) Expect a reply to your emails soon!

Congratulations! Um. You're going to grad school? I suppose probably if I were more attentive, I'd have known this before just now -- but, since I haven't: What? What will you be doing? :-)

Well, you see. I had this diploma sized empty space on my wall. . . ;-)

I went to a conference in San Francisco back in October and met a researcher from UC Davis. We talked about his ongoing studies and I was interested in the work he was doing. Shortly after the visit, I inquired about the MPVM (Master of Veterinary Preventive Medicine Program) and he started recruiting me.

It's a year long program, but the part that's great is that the research project he's working on desperately needed another person. The groundwork has all been laid down and they just needed someone to get the project moving. There are numerous publishing opportunities in major journals when the study ends, so I'm very excited. I can probably complete the study before classes start so I shan't have need to balance fieldwork and classes. YAY!
