To celebrate season 2 of Hakuouki that's coming out in a week (anyone following this anime?), I thought I'd draw Hijikata Toshizo, the deputy leader of the Shinsengumi Corps during Bakumatsu, Japan.

Yep, it's done in Corel Painter :) It probably looks like pastel because I was using strong colours with broad brush strokes?
