My best friend Ter (ter369) passed away peacefully this afternoon, at the age of 52. She had been very ill since June, with an extremely aggressive form of uterine cancer. Oh man. Even though I've been steeling myself for this for several months now, when I first knew that this was not the kind of cancer with a progression that had any happy outcome, I ( Read more... )

Ter sounds like a fabulous person. Thank you so much for sharing a part of her with us. Those are some excellent guidelines to live by, and there are not enough people in the world who do.

I'm so sorry. *hugs*

Thank you so very much - I hope I managed to capture even a tenth of Ter's spirit. And I like to think that there may be people out there who see her guidelines and go out and have adventures, keeping that spirit alive even though they never met her - that's a gift too.

What a beautiful tribute you've written! I'm utterly overwhelmed by your words and the love behind them. ♥♥ I wish I could have met her! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful friend, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you so very much, dear friend. ♥ The thought that people who never met Ter may be out there Snoopy dancing... it lifts my heart. Ter was lucky to be well-loved, but I know I am lucky too, to have friends here like you.

I'm not sure if you're getting comments left on Ter's journal, so I thought I'd drop a line here -- while we were friends we weren't especially close, and I wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. Ter's going to be very much missed by all.

One question -- do you think it would be okay to unlock her 50 Things In 50 Years post? I tried to share it but it's friends-locked. I would hope she wouldn't mind, but that's more your call than mine, and I want to be respectful.

I know I responded to you via LJ messaging earlier, but I wanted to thank you here, for your words and your tribute. Ter was lucky to be so well-loved and I like to think that her influence will be felt for a long time to come. (As Terry Pratchett once said, "...no one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away" - and that would mean Ter will be here in some way for a long time to come.
